"See you later, Cami"

Today is a bittersweet day for all of us here on the Vitamin Angels staff as we bid “see you later” to our long time friend and coworker, Cami Allen. The good thing about farewells is that that they allow us the time to reflect on the individual and the impact they have made on us, and give us the opportunity to let them know if they didn’t already. There’s no shortage of memories, warm thoughts and well wishes to share for our friend, Cami.

Cami has contributed so much to Vitamin Angels during her time here. She has been an indispensible team player, spanning the range of responsibilities within the organization as we have grown from a tiny group to a busy office of 12. She has done a phenomenal job in her position as Program Manager, among other things working with our many field partners to coordinate our nutrition programs around the world. Her professionalism, experience and expertise have helped shape what Vitamin Angels is today, while her personality, spirit and smile have brought a special light to those lucky enough to work with her. She leaves to pursue her desire to work at the field level.

Last night the VA staff threw a surprise party to celebrate Cami. We’re not the best at keeping secrets so our uncustomary silence throughout the day may have put up a red flag that we were up to something sneaky, but our surprise was a success in whole. Kim Schiffer (wife of the VA President/founder Howard Schiffer) is hands-down one of the best chefs here in town and we were lucky and delighted to spend an evening learning from her as we cooked an amazing meal together and created more lasting memories. It was only fitting that we give Cami a "Bon Voyage" full of good food and nutrition!

Today’s is Cami’s last day in the office and although we are selfishly trying to devise a scheme to glue her to her desk, we truly wish her nothing but the absolute best as she goes on to leave a lasting impression on the rest of the world just as she has done with our group.
