Howard Schiffer, Vitamin Angels founder/president recently returned from a trip to Australia to kick start Vitamin Angels' promotion with sanofi-aventis and its Nature’s Own brand.  Check out what Howard had to say about the trip:

"The welcome we received at the Pharmacy Guild's APP Conference in the Gold Coast, Australia, set the tone for my entire trip. Kos Sclavos, the President, personally welcomed me and introduced Vitamin Angels to 1,500 attendees (in a packed amphitheater) at their annual meeting. Kos gave the Pharmacy Guild's stamp of approval to Vitamin Angels and encouraged everyone to get involved with our new partnership with sanofi-aventis and Nature's Own.

That evening we got to speak to some more colleagues from the pharmacy industry, at a Vitamin Angels event on the 78th floor of Q1 (Queensland Number One, the tallest residential building in the Southern Hemisphere!). The next night we all got to dance at the Gala Dinner headlined by Australia's iconic rock 'n roller, Jimmy Barnes. I'm sure the Gold Coast was a small beach town once, but those days are long gone. Now it is a major tourist destination and although the waves still break in clean straight lines one after the other (hence the name 'Surfer's Paradise') the high rises and skyscrapers look like something you would find in New York or Hong Kong.

After the show, the media blitz followed with interviews at major trade magazines, women's magazines and major daily newspapers. The materials that sanofi-aventis has put together to support this partnership are truly world class.  The Nature's Own / Vitamin Angels initiative is arguably the first of its kind here in Australia and the excitement is palpable.   Watch out - very soon Vitamin Angels will be a well known name across Australia!"
