Join us in running in the 2012 LA Honda Marathon
Join Team Vitamin Angels as we participate in the 2012 LA Honda Marathon on March 18th! We are welcoming first time runners as well as anyone with experience to run for Vitamin Angels as we work to provide essential nutrients to children and mothers in need. By running and fundraising with Team Vitamin Angels you will be working to provide nutrition and a strong foundation for good health to children and women locally and worldwide.
Here are the essentials:

Set up a fundraising page at Crowdrise.com/AngelsinLA. The minimum fundraising goal is $250.

Start training. Our team will be training through the LA RoadRunners training program. Training begins September 10th with locations in Venice or the Inland Empire. If you are outside of LA, let us know and we will do our best to make some suggestions for a training program in your area.

Raise $250 to get Team Vitamin Angels Marathon shirt

Raise $500 and you also get a Vitamin Angels baseball cap or sweatshirt (choice dependent on availability)

Raise $1,000 and we’ll pay for your race registration too! The deadline to take advantage of this opportunity is January 5th.

Meet the Team at a pre-race gathering. Team VA runners will join together with VA staff the day before the race to celebrate your fundraising achievements, share encouragement, refreshments and more. Details to come.

Vitamin Angels reduces child mortality worldwide by connecting essential nutrients, especially vitamin A, with infants, children under five, and expecting and new mothers. Essential nutrients enable young immune systems to fight infectious diseases, helping children attain good health and giving them the opportunity to lead meaningful and productive lives. In 2010, Vitamin Angels' two programs, Operation 2020 and Thrive to Five, collectively connected over 22.5 million children in 43 countries, including the US, with the vital nutrients they need as a foundation for good health.
Vitamin Angels' Thrive to Five program is a global multivitamin campaign, reaching children under five and new and expecting mothers with the nutrients they need to as a foundation for good health. In addition to connecting mothers and children with vital nutrients in 26 countries worldwide, Vitamin Angels provides multivitamins to at-risk children and mothers in various cities throughout the U.S., including Los Angeles. Beneficiaries are reached by partnering with local organizations like the Northeast Community Clinics to distribute and integrate multivitamins in to the health and nutrition programs already in place.
Operation 2020 is Vitamin Angels' international vitamin A campaign. Approximately 190 million children under five suffer from vitamin A deficiency. At just 25 cents per child per year, Vitamin Angels can provide one child with the vitamin A necessary to strengthen their immune systems and overall health.
