Crediting photographs is standard international practice, intended to: affirm copyright; facilitate the subsequent identification and tracking of the image; and acknowledge the photographer. For Vitamin Angels, crediting photographers is also a minimum courtesy, given that copyright to their images has been obtained at well below standard market rates.
All photographs should be credited to include:
© VitaminAngels/2 letter country code and year/photographer (last name only)
(e.g. ©VitaminAngels/IN09/Dayka)
© VitaminAngels affirms copyright ownership.
The country code ensures that the photo will be used only in association with the appropriate country; this in conjunction with the year provides an efficient way for Vitamin Angels to track the image and any approved use.
Crediting the photographer is an editorial industry standard. In instances where the photographer is unknown, this component may be excluded.

In no case should credits be excluded for graphic design reasons: Find an appropriate graphic treatment and use small font sizes! The photo credit is not required to be on the image itself.
Note that only photographs owned by Vitamin Angels should be credited to Vitamin Angels. Photographs released to Vitamin Angels for internal use or purchased for one-time use, should be credited only to the photographer or other copyright owner, (this may be the case for photos received from our distribution partners).
