NORTHRIDGE, CALIF - Pharmavite LLC, the manufacturer of Nature Made® brand vitamins and SOYJOY® whole soy nutrition bars has taken immediate action to aid relief efforts for victims of the earthquakes that have ravaged Haiti. The company has immediately committed approximately $500,000 in financial support and product supplies through multiple support groups.

“The growing toll of this earthquake in Haiti is overwhelmingly devastating,” said Pharmavite President and CEO, Connie Barry. “It’s our duty as world citizens to respond quickly and compassionately. We hope that our immediate efforts, and those from multiple organizations and citizens around the globe, can help to aid in the recovery efforts.”

Yesterday the company made a financial donation of $75,000 via the American Red Cross to the ongoing response to the earthquakes in Haiti. In addition, the company allocated approximately 300,000 SOYJOY bars which are shelf stable and allow for convenient distribution.

Also, the company committed approximately 1.8 million vitamins, a combination of multi-prenatal vitamins for pregnant and nursing victims of the disaster, as well as children’s chewable multi-vitamins to help maintain nutrition among the youngest victims whose diets will be significantly disrupted in the coming weeks and months.

To distribute the vitamins, Pharmavite partnered with The Vitamin Angel Alliance, Inc, which was founded in 1994 in response to the historic earthquake in Northridge, California, where Pharmavite is headquartered. The Vitamin Angels Alliance distributes vitamins to children in developing countries in recognition that essential nutrients can save lives.
