SupplySide West Attendees Earn Their Wings with Vitamin Angels

Santa Barbara, CA – At this year’s SupplySide West tradeshow in Las Vegas, Vitamin Angels, a non-profit, 501c3 charitable organization connecting essential nutrients, especially vitamin A, with at-risk populations around the world, raised awareness and funds for their cause.

As the honored guest of three events during the show, Vitamin Angels shared their mission with many of the nearly 10,000 attendees of SupplySide West’s 15th Anniversary show. Donations from attendees and event sponsors during the two-day conference totaled over $43,000, which will allow Vitamin Angels to reach nearly 350,000 children next year thanks to their 100 Days of Giving campaign sponsors who are doubling all donations (up to $250,000) through January 1, 2012.

A private event put on by Horn and benefitting Vitamin Angels at Dal Torro Ristorante in the Palazzo on Tuesday night, set the stage for a successful show. On Wednesday night, at SupplySide West’s opening reception hosted by DSM at Las Vegas hot spot, Tao, volunteers  from local Vitamin Shoppe and Whole Foods stores donned angel wings and circulated the crowd raising awareness and encouraging attendees to ‘earn their wings’ by making a donation. Guests enjoyed music, drinks, appetizers and sponsor beach balls bobbing in the pool at Tao beach all to benefit Vitamin Angels’ mission. Later that night, Vitamin Angels was the beneficiary of Novel Ingredient’s event at V-Bar, where guests were treated to complimentary drinks and club music to dance the night away.

"Doing the opening event at SupplySide West with DSM and Virgo is such an honor for Vitamin Angels. The Horn and Novel Ingredients private events were icing on the cake. SSW keeps growing every year and concurrently so does our support within the industry. Each year, we continue to build our base of support while reminding everyone that together we will reach 24 million children this year with essential nutrients" said Howard B. Schiffer, President of Vitamin Angels.
Vitamin Angels also spent some time on the tradeshow floor educating attendees about their work and inviting exhibitors to consider partnering with the organization through a cause-marketing relationship or by donating product to further their mission of reaching children in need with essential nutrients. Vitamin Angels’ partner, ConnOils, set an example by raising $4,500 through a promotion running during the show.

Vitamin Angels extends their thanks to event hosts and sponsors, Virgo Publishing, LLC, DSM, Horn, and Novel Ingredients, and to the volunteers and generous donors who support their cause.
