Role or Purpose of Position

The Senior Account Executive is a member of the Development Division team who serves as a point of contact for corporate partnerships. The purpose of the position is to manage account relationships through various levels of interaction ensuring all needs are met while facilitating partner growth, development, and increased financial contributions. The Senior Account Manager represents their client’s interests, anticipates their needs, and ensures their continued support, and satisfaction in partnering with Vitamin Angels. The ideal candidate will have previous relationship and account management experience. Specifically, expertise in managing 6 figure partnerships and collaborating with multiple teams preferred.  

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The major duties and responsibilities of the Senior Development Account Executive include:

Manage and oversee account progress, projections and share deliverables

  • Work closely with Account Executive team, Project Manager, Director of Marketing, Associate Directors, and VP of Business Development to determine deliverables and monetary projections associated with each major account, and annual goals for smaller accounts
  • Measure account contributions against projections monthly to ensure department deliverables are being met, tracking all projections and donations in Salesforce CRM database
  • Update Development & Marketing divisions on account progress and provide notice of anticipated needs if they require additional involvement from other divisions (such as the approval of print materials, copy, or the potential for additional Marketing resources or needs)
  • Annual planning session with Brand & Retail Marketing Manager to create a clear strategy for marketing deliverables for top accounts
  • Provide regular updates to accounting to report any revisions to revenue forecast and new business
  • Track and organize key tasks, phone calls, meetings and projects completed within SalesForce
  • Follow up with companies to ensure deliverables are completed, invoices are received, and payments are remitted
  • Create strategies to add value to partnerships and ensure contract renewals
  • Compose and edit copy for partners’ digital and print materials communicating VA’s partnership

Act as the liaison for company/client/account partnerships

  • Interact with clients appropriately according to their needs and donor level, connecting with each account at least once per quarter
  • Understand how to strategically measure client potential to expand partnership opportunities and monetary contributions
  • Understand how to determine the clients’ areas for growth and make partnerships suggestions that can strategically support their business goals.
  • Represent client interests within the organization and anticipate client needs, objections and opportunities that would be appropriate and desirable to the partner
  • Provide personalized guidance, feedback and ideas aligned with best practices to maximize the growth of promotional partnerships
  • Facilitate account interactions and introductions between relevant retail partners in order to increase company sales, exposure and monetary contributions
  • Encourage a mutually supportive relationship between branded product accounts, distributors and retailers in order to expand customer exposure, increase sales and ensure the satisfaction of all parties
  • Attend select industry events to meet with each major account, review partnership details, and encourage growth
  • Travel to meet with high level or high-level potential donors, connect with their team, and present Vitamin Angels in-person

Monitor actions relevant to managing account expectations and donor recognition

  • Collaborate with the Development Coordinator to ensure each account is properly recognized for their donations (e.g., appropriate use of website and newsletter recognition, or additional recognition, as appropriate)
  • Provide feedback on certain tasks pertaining specifically to account management within the Development Division

Level of Decision-Making

Within the bounds of VA’s mission, values and policies, and sound professional practices, the Senior Account Executive has the broad discretion to use independent judgement to manage their activities in whatever way will best serve VA clients, partners, employees, and mission. Specific authorities associated with this position and their implementation procedures will be determined in conjunction with the SVP of Development.

 

Organizational Relationships

VA operates under a collaborative, matrix management model. The Senior Account Executive is supervised by an Associate Director, with respect to overall assignments and performance, and interacts daily with a range of members of the VA team. The Senior Account Executive establishes their own daily work priorities and ensures that all responsibilities are conducted with the accepted best practices, sound professional judgment, and within established schedules and budgets.

  • Yes; ~15%, mostly domestic

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required and Desired) 

Required:

  • Minimum BA/BSc degree from an accredited university, or strong applicable work experience

  • Previous experience managing customer relationships
  • Previous experience representing clients, preferably mid to large sized companies
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
  • Successfully able to interact with team members and outside contacts, enjoys in-person events, conferences, and meetings
  • Experience or comfort with public speaking or presenting to a small to mid-sized group in a meeting setting
  • Good time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, team playing skills
  • Proficiency with information technology (e.g., basic office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with database management systems
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal and communications skills (written/oral) required
  • Enjoys an idea and information sharing environment
  • Available to travel within the United States and internationally on occasion
  • Ability to manage stress, including but not limited to stress resulting from local and foreign travel, large crowds, open spaces, shared office space, and daily activities.
  • Ability to lift, or carry, approximately 20-40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, including but not limited to prolonged air travel, and general job assignments perform at a desk.
  • Must have a valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
  • Ability to walk or hike in conditions which may include uneven surfaces, inclinations, stairs, extreme weather, long distances, elevation changes or extremes, and / or other conditions associated with foreign travel.
  • Ability to receive necessary vaccines and medication for travel to certain countries.
     

Highly Desirable:

  • Professional writing experience or coursework strongly preferred
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships
  • Comfortability conducting high-level meetings over Zoom/Teams platforms
