Vitamin Angels' Program Director, Kristen M. Hurley, PhD, Associate Professor at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and colleagues, will present the importance of maternal nutrition and provide attendees with an update on MMS evidence, policy, and practice, highlighting the Indonesian experience.


A moderated panel discussion will advocate for the importance of optimal antenatal care (ANC) in promoting maternal nutrition during pregnancy.

Symposium topics will include: 

  • Recent evidence on the positive effects of MSS for pregnant women
  • Global and Indonesian policies on ANC and maternal nutrition
  • An overview of ongoing efforts in Indonesia to accelerate the effective implementation of MMS programs within ANC
