The Life Changing Value of Global Partnerships

Chris, our Partnership Marketing Manager, reflects on the invaluable efforts of the individuals and organizations that help us share the power of vitamins in countries like Haiti and beyond.

I’ve been fortunate enough to visit the field several times in my four years with Vitamin Angels, and I’ve noticed that every time I return from seeing our work around the world, I come to a new realization about the nature of what we do and how we get it done.

During my most recent trip to Haiti, what really stood out to me was the overarching theme of partnerships. I was in the field with so many different people who were essential to our operations and made sure we delivered vitamins to children in need.

Between my colleagues, the donor store teams from The Vitamin Shoppe, our Haitian consultant, the field partners at St. Rock Foundation, and the moms who brought their children to the distributions, I was able to witness the chain of partnerships that made what we do possible.

Our donors provided the funds to purchase our deworming, prenatals and vitamin A; our in-country consultant, Dr. Minaud, helped identify the right organizations that could connect us to at-risk mothers and children; our field partner, St. Rock Foundation – a team of Bostonian doctors -- worked in an area with no government services; and finally, the mothers traveled various distances to ensure their children received the vitamins. All had an essential role to play in making sure these children got the vitamins they need to thrive and have healthy childhoods.

Without these partnerships, none of this would be possible. I returned from Haiti with a new appreciation for the individuals who help turn our vision into a reality, all around the globe.
