Since 2010, Sprouts Farmer’s Market has helped Vitamin Angels to reach over 6 million children.
With a powerful message and playful marketing, Sprouts continues to capture the attention of both customers and vendors during their August campaign. In 2017, over 95 vendors participated by making a 25 cent donation per item sold. The campaign message was shared through Sprouts’ weekly and monthly circulars and as well as in a video captured during their 2017 trip to Honduras. Sprouts employees showed their dedication to the program by making sure Vitamin Angels signage was front and center in stores and by hanging more than 1,000 channel strip tags identifying participating items – an incredible feat!
In addition to their August campaign, Sprouts offers customers the opportunity to round-up their purchases in October creating even greater awareness for our cause and childhood malnutrition.
In May of 2015, some of the Sprouts team joined Vitamin Angels in Haiti to better understand the problem we are addressing and to see the impact of their support. Sprouts President, Jim Nielson, Vitamin Category Director, Diana Lucas, Vitamin Category Manager, Kelsey Hintz and Store Manager, Naghmeh Ghafourian spent 4 days visiting Vitamin Angels partners and speaking to the mothers and children whose lives have been changed thanks in part to our partnership. Since then, Sprouts has joined three additional Vitamin Angels trips to Honduras, Peru and Mexico. Sprouts CEO Amin Maridea also accompanied his colleagues to Honduras in 2017. Sprouts understands the important opportunity trips provide to directly experience the impact of our partnership and has since committed to two trips every year.
The awareness and contributions Sprouts has already brought to Vitamin Angels work is extraordinary. The sky is the limit with this incredible retailer.
