Walgreens has reached over 200 million women and children around the world with life-changing vitamins and minerals through its partnership with Vitamin Angels.

Get vitamins here. Change lives everywhere.

Since 2013, Walgreens and Vitamin Angels have worked together to provide vitamins and minerals to malnourished pregnant women and children in low and middle-income countries around the world. As of 2019, Walgreens has reached over 200 million women and children with life-saving vitamins and minerals through this partnership.

Over the last six years, Walgreens has donated one percent of sales of participating vitamin products to support Vitamin Angels’ outreach efforts to communities in need across the U.S. and globally. In January 2019, Walgreens also held a ‘Quarters Drive’ customer donation program, which resulted in an additional $1.5 million raised to support Vitamin Angels’ work.

“With the support of Walgreens, Vitamin Angels has been able to reach millions of mothers and children under five at risk of malnutrition with life-saving nutrients,” said Howard Schiffer, founder and president of Vitamin Angels. “We are honored to be partnering with an organization that cares so much about children and moms in the U.S. and around the world.”

In early 2015, members of the Walgreens corporate office and two store employees joined Vitamin Angels on two trips to observe Vitamin Angels’ work in the field. The group spent five days in the Dominican Republic observing the distribution of vitamin A, albendazole, and prenatal multivitamins to communities from Santo Domingo to Santiago. They also traveled to Portland, Oregon where they spent one day getting to know several families whom receive Vitamin Angels' prenatal multivitamins through a local food bank. Most recently, select Walgreens team members had the opportunity to travel to Uganda, Africa where they also observed the significant impact vitamins and minerals have within undernourished communities. These visits into the field gave Walgreens the chance to see the significant impact of their support firsthand as well as the continued need for vitamins both domestically in the U.S. and globally.

Vitamin Angels thanks the entire Walgreens team for their incredible commitment and dedication to the partnership and the vulnerable mothers and children around the world. The support of Walgreens is what makes Vitamin Angels’ work possible.

“We are proud to support Vitamin Angels in its journey to provide life-changing vitamins and minerals. The impact that Walgreens and its customers can make to help minimize ailments related to the lack of essential nutrients, will improve millions of peoples’ lives.” Robert Tompkins, Group Vice President, Health and Wellness
